Heat + low pH
Life adapted to hot, acidic geothermal habitats.
Bacter selects the best microorganisms for each wastewater treatment. Starting from the physicochemical composition of the wastewater, all the way to plant implementation and active maintenance.
Life thrives in the hot springs around volcanoes. Heat does not always rule biology out.
Long before industry created difficult wastewater, evolution had already shaped microbes for heat, cold, pressure, acidity and scarcity. Think your wastewater is too harsh for biology? Look where life already thrives.

Life adapted to hot, acidic geothermal habitats.

A cold-adapted species associated with environments where biological activity must continue at low temperature.

A deep-sea example of microbial life shaped by pressure, darkness and limited resources.

An iconic hot-spring microorganism and a reminder that heat can be a habitat, not only a stress.
We analyse your water to understand its pollutants, changing conditions and treatment needs.
We select complementary microbes and test how well they treat your specific wastewater.
We physically introduce selected microorganisms into your existing treatment tanks — as inoculated sludge or on a biofilm bed or carriers, depending on the plant configuration.
We monitor treatment performance and support adjustments to keep the biological process working reliably.
Every plant is different. We adapt how Bacter is deployed to the infrastructure already on site — or build a modular treatment unit where new capacity is needed.
For suitable existing flotation, storage or filtration tanks, Bacter introduces tailored microbial biomass grown as biofilm on carrier media. We integrate the carriers and monitoring into the existing treatment line.

For existing oxidation tanks, Bacter replaces conventional activated sludge with specialized microbial biomass selected for the wastewater. The aim is to improve treatment efficiency and reduce the aeration required, subject to site-specific validation.

When a site needs new treatment infrastructure, Bacter develops modular biofilm bioreactors with microbial consortia and monitoring built in. Modules can be connected in series for difficult wastewater or in parallel for higher flows.

Every installation starts with a feasibility study and wastewater-specific testing. Final configurations and performance targets depend on the actual plant.

REAL WATER

Industrial wastewater is rarely uniform. Temperature, salinity, pollutants and flow rates change — sometimes faster than conventional biological systems can adapt. Nature offers microorganisms that have evolved to function across demanding environments; Bacter studies that resilience and applies it to industrial treatment challenges.
The goal is concrete: make better use of existing treatment infrastructure, explore alternatives to intensive chemical or energy inputs, and develop processes that remain reliable when water quality changes. Every proposal is evaluated against the actual wastewater, with treatment targets and measurable operating results.
That is why we connect microorganism selection to feasibility studies, experimental campaigns, pilot-scale validation and active monitoring. Scientific insight matters only when it becomes a treatment solution an industrial operator can actually run.
